Finally the Competition season has now arrived! and Winter too !

Alexandra Regier was the first one to compete this year as she went to Elite Canada in Mississauga, Ont.

where she gained High Performance Junior status…Congratulations!

You can find more about it by clicking here ! )

As well Ashlee deLeeuw has kept her Senior High Performance status.

Many of our members are putting the final touch to their routines as they are getting ready to compete

at the Aerials meet on February 21st  and the out of town meet, Capital City in Edmonton during the last

weekend in February. On the same weekend the National stream gymnasts will be in action too as they

will compete at the prestigious California Classic in San Diego.

Good luck to all competitors …Train Hard…you deserve the best!

Make yourself and the club proud!

The results of those competitions will be posted on our website under results the week after.

After these competitions, our next competition will be the Toyota Invitational and Manitoba Open Hosted

by Panthers on March 27th and 28th

We are known to host the best competition in the Province…and it is because of all of you, the volunteers

and the staff…

We will need you again this year…this is an excellent opportunity to work of your volunteer hours …

Positions to be fill will be posted on the window in the front lobby…

Thanks again for the support you are giving the club and your children.

About our Gym:

As most of you know, Panthers is the most equipped gym in the Province and we have added a few more

mats in early January. We are also in the process of putting new beam covers on two of our current beams…

All this equipment is worth a lot of money,

Panthers buys between 5 and 10 thousand dollars per year of new equipment.

So, support your club in all of their fundraising campaign as we still need to revamp one of our trampolines and

get a few more landing mats as well as new kinder-gym equipment.

Desiree Loutit

January has been a very busy month.  New groups have been added and I would like to welcome our many

new members.

Our second 15 week session is going great, and we still have limited spots available in some classes.

Seven regional team members went to the Beausejour Invitational meet which was on Jan. 24th.  They did an

excellent job and their awards and results are on view in the display case located in the lobby.  Their coach Michelle

is very proud of them, and so are we all.

We're excited to be sending the full team to Provincial Championships, which are being held in Portage la Prairie

this year.

Keep up the great work girls!

Our Cangym testing is well under way, and we are very close to being finished.

Certificates and report cards will be handed out just before spring break.

Speaking of SPRING BREAK, we are now accepting registrations for CAMP.  If you are interested in having your child

do about 20 hours of gymnastics learning in between crafts, play and other learning activities, sign-up soon to be

assured a spot.

What a terrific way to spend your break.  They'll be sure to impress their group and coach when they return to class

with all these new and exciting skills!!

I would also like to take this time to thank the parents for their great volunteer work so far this year!

It has been great to have things done quickly and efficiently!

Hospitality & Vice-President Report

Jennifer Bewski

I would like to welcome George Bailey as the newest board member.  George has volunteered to fill the Marketing position.

Our next meet that we will be providing hospitality for will be the Edmond Financial Manitoba Open and Toyota Invitational Meet.

Donating food for these events is an easy way to use up those volunteer hours, so get those crock-pots and salad bowls handy

as I will be posting the sign up sheets in early March.  One more addition to the Lobby you may have noticed is the Canadian

Tire Money box.  Any monies collected in here go towards general misc. cleaning products, such as vacuum cleaner bags, etc.

Congratulations to all the girls who competed at the Beausejour Regional Meet, great job representing Panthers!

For those who have participated in the fall fundraising activities and are wondering where the rebate cheques are, they are scheduled

to be distributed in March for all fundraisers up to end of December 2003.  Our apologies for the unusual delay, between the extended

chocolate fundraiser and set up of the new system, it has taken a little longer than originally anticipated.  All inquiries regarding the

fundraising can be directed to Joanne Holt, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Bingo Report

Teresa Montanti

Bingo’s are going great! If for any reason you cannot make your Bingo date, please call me as soon as possible at

984-5023 (leave message) to ensure a replacement can be found.

Volunteer Report

Ruth Schappert

Thank you to all volunteers who have been helping in and around the gym.  This is a great way for you to show how much you care

about Panthers!

Keep watching the inside glass window in the foyer for volunteer sign up sheets.  Sign up early for the best selection of

volunteer opportunities.

We need potential volunteers to let us know of any special skills or qualifications that they may have, that would assist us in repairs,

maintenance, and other jobs around the gym.  We are often in need of volunteers who have certification as an electrician, plumber,

carpenter, seamstress, painter, etc as we often have volunteer opportunities that require these special skills. Please email Ruth

(the volunteer coordinator) at nurserynotions@mts.net with your name, gymnast's name, and special skill.

Upon completion of you volunteer duty, please remember to complete a Volunteer Assessment form and have it signed by the person

in charge of the activity, or a board member.  This will help us to keep up to date on the hours you have completed.

There are several on-going volunteer duties that are posted for the season:

1- We are looking for one person for each day of the week to be responsible for snow clearing around each of the three doors to the gym.
2- We need a coordinator for the plant sale in May.

There are only 4 months left to complete you volunteer hours and more opportunities to come.  Watch the window inside the foyer for

sign-up sheets.
